Three members of the FIFS staff were on hand last week to help with a benefit concert featuring Sidewalk Prophets to raise funds for Bridge of Hope BuxMont. Denise Alderfer, Jim McMichael, and Julie Yoder volunteered their time to make this a successful event.

Some of the tasks included unloading band’s equipment from the the trucks and trailers, running electrical cabling for the musical equipment, delivering food for the band members, greeting guests, scanning tickets, and tearing down the set and clean up after the concert. “I felt honored to be able to play a small role in the work Bridge of Hope is doing to help single mothers and their children” said Julie Yoder.

The mission of Bridge of Hope BuxMont is to engage our community in ending and preventing homelessness for single mothers and children in Bucks & Montgomery counties through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love.

They can use your contributions and time. Consider helping in any of the following ways:

  • Assist with the Raising Hope Gala in the spring of 2019 or the Benefit Concert in the fall of 2019.
  • Participate in Neighboring Groups to provide friendship and support for a mom in the program.
  • Provide Move-In Kits containing essential household items for when a mom moves into an apartment.
  • Supply a meal for a Hope Gathering, a resource and fellowship event provided for moms in the program.
